Adventure Labs

Are you a big fan of Adventure Labs? Are you one of those geocachers who will drive hundreds of miles out of your way, just to complete an Adventure Lab Geoart or series?

Well then, we have something that might just appeal to you!

In December 2024, GeocacheON (that’s the geocaching organization that’s hosting Fall Fest) put together Ontario’s FIRST ever Adventure Lab GeoArt (also called an Adventure Lab Bomb) in the shape of ON, less than 20 minutes from Event HQ at the Eastbound OnRoute rest stop in Woodstock, Ontario. Adventure Lab credits were donated from all over North America to help make this project happen. The final adventure labs were turned to Public on December 23, 2024 just in time for the Christmas break. This Adventure Lab GeoArt includes trivia about Ontario and Canada, and rewards visitors with 170 smilies and can be completed in less than an hour (perfect to do on a rainy day!)

Of course, we know there are other (much larger) Adventure Lab Geoarts across North America, including the 600-stage West Virginia shaped GeoArt that was released for GeoWoodstock XXI in Morgantown, West Virginia. We may not be able to tackle a project quite that large this year, but did want to release another Adventure Lab Geoart in conjunction with Fall Fest 2025. Coming in Summer 2025, the EH? Geoart will be accessible from the camping area of Fall Fest 2025, offering an additional 250 smilies to those who complete it.

These projects are a massive undertaking, and we couldn’t do it without the generous “donation” of Adventure Lab credits from our geocaching friends. If you are interested in donating a credit to this project, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject “AL Credit”, and your name will be added to the list for summer 2025. Unlike some other events or organizations, we DO NOT require access to your geocaching account. Instead, you will be provided with a step-by-step builder guide to follow, that includes all images, text, coordinates, and information. Most geocachers who participated in the ON Adventure Lab art said they were able to put their AL together in less than 15 minutes with the information provided.

AND, if the 250 Adventure Lab GeoArt at the fairgrounds wasn’t enough, we are also planning to release at least 50 Adventure Lab stages on the first day of the event, offering unique tours of the Brant County Barn Quilt Trail, Historic Landmarks of Brant County (see the tie in with the Pathtag set we have for this year? Those might come in handy…) and a series of unique gadget caches at Event HQ built by Pasha88’s father, HotRod1250. That's a total of more than 300 Adventure Labs, just for the event!

We know Adventure Labs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you enjoy them, you’ll LOVE what we have planned for you!
